A brand new series that gives medical students the chance to reinforce their anatomy, histology and pathology in an integrative, clinical environment. A great revision tool for all medics and also those that want to explore surgery in depth. The evening is split into 3 parts:
1) Students will be presented with a patient and they must use their knowledge to formulate a diagnosis.
2)Dr Allsop (head anatomy demonstrator) and Dr David Cundell (Previous head anatomy demonstrator and now a pathologist) will then discuss the anatomy and histology of the heart with a particular emphasis on the pathology of this particular case to include potted specimens to reinforce the points they make.
3)A consultant cardiothoracic surgeon will then run through the surgical procedure that would have been performed on this patient with videos and pictures to illustrate his points.
